All I'm saying is that, at the level of logical form, there is no difference between the statements of Trump and Obama. Each of them says "I am President, and you are not, therefore I am right about some issue X and you are wrong about it". The form of this argument is identical, while X may be different. Do you agree?
No, I do not agree. This is indeed what Trump said, where X was "everything important in life". Obama merely said something like "I am President, and you are not, therefore I have achieved more in life than you."
In my view, the form of the argument is the same while X is different.
"I am president and you are not, therefore my opinion about X is correct".
Obama was ridiculing Trump's tweet that "Obama was the worst president". To support his opinion, Obama said the same thing: Obama is president and Trump is not, therefore Trump's opinions about Obama are incorrect. In a theatrical gesture, Obama dropped the phone from which he was reading Trump's tweet - emphasizing that his argument is persuasive, that Trump's statement has been refuted, because Obama is president and Trump is not. Obama said, in effect, - "А чего добился ты, Трампъ?"
Trump said that he has good intuition about how to do things in life, and he is president, therefore his intuition is indeed good because he has achieved more than the other person. "А чего добился ты, журналистъ?"
First, "I am president and you are not, therefore my opinion about X is correct" may or may not be ridiculous, depending on what X is. For example, if X is "a matter on which I have top-secret intelligence", the above statement is perfectly reasonable. If X is "everything in life", as Trump essentially said, it is ridiculous.
Second, Obama did not even contradict Trump. Trump said "Obama is the worst president,", Obama answered "at least, I am the president". There is no contradiction. Obama just poked fun at Trump, by pointing out that no matter how bad a president Obama is, he still achieved more in life than Trump. Probably, because he knew that Trump is very sensitive about his own achievements, and this would be annoy him.
