Walter Lewin: Crime and Punishment

leblonКак известно, недавно 78-летний профессор MIT в отставке Walter Lewin был лишен звания professor emeritus в наказание за online sexual harassment. Кроме того, MIT удалил его популярные лекции по физике со своего сайта. Кажется, одновременно они были удалены и с других сайтов. Что же такого сделал Левин? Администрация MIT хранит молчание, и оставалось только гадать. Но шила в мешке не утаишь. Судя по всему, преступление Левина заключалось в том, что он вступил в игривый разговор с парой женщин в твиттере, и во время этого разговора довольно грубо пошутил. Этот разговор не имел никакого отношения к процессу обучения в MIT или еще где-либо. (Левин не преподавал online course в тот момент, хотя преподавал его годом раньше). Просто частный разговор. Шутка весьма неприличная, 18+. Но причем здесь харассмент я в упор не понимаю. Недавно (неделю назад) астроном Нил ДеГрасс Тайсон пошутил в твиттере про Рождество, многие христиане обиделись. Его тоже надо немедленно уволить, а научно популярный фильм Cosmos удалить? Ах да, это же христиане обиделись, а не женщины. Это совсем другое дело! This comment is to give everybody here an idea of the sorts of things Lewin was doing.
As mentioned above, Lewin's twitter account mysteriously disappeared in the last 24 hours. I saw it before it disappeared and I will piece together one of a few inappropriate (in my opinion) sequences.
The sequence is between Lewin, tshelsea ( https://twitter.com/tshelsea/with_replies ), and VeeNasrallah (https://twitter.com/VeeNasrallah/with_replies ). Some of it (as noted below) is only from memory:

I managed to archive Lewin's exact quotes. They were:

[3] "tshelsea You will get paid a way that will broaden your horizons and enrich your life. You life will never be the same."
[4] "tshelsea I will do my part, queefing is yours."
The jokes are of course inappropriate, though, call me sick-minded, but I laughed.
For context: I do remember this being the worst Tweets as well. Most of his Tweets were him just nicely offering to sign books and so on.
The Tech is free to delete this comment if it wishes. The tweets were public and will come out eventually.

Note that this is only one sequence in twitter (though this one was the worst in my opinion) and who knows what happened via email, etc. [1] and [3] above can (still) be found on the women's twitter pages, [2] and [4] are from memory before Lewin's account was deleted, and [5] is an exact quote though I don't have a screen shot or date.
