The "Pioneer anomaly" has been solved, apparently. No fancy deviations from Einstein's theory, of course, just a mundane asymmetry of heat emission. But solving it was a very nontrivial accomplishment which took a decade. While reading this article I was thinking "Long live the Asperger's syndrome!"

И это тоже. Но не только: кто еще может потратить несколько лет, копаясь в старых чертежах и создавая модель зонда, причем подозревая что результат окажется таким, каким он оказался?
