Two Caltech physicists start a discussion of the scheme-dependence of the beta-function while in men's room. Murray Gell-Mann (one of the inventors of the renormalization group flow) enters the men's room and proceeds to the stall. Having finished his business, he leaves the stall and washes his hands. The physicists are still there, arguing. As Gell-Mann leaves, he shakes his head and says: "You guys have already been discussing this longer than it took me to figure it out in the first place."
